Treadle Machine - need belt

Subscribe
Any sources for belts for treadle machines? I don't have it yet (neighbor is bringing it over next week) - in it's original cabinet. She tells me that the wheel turns and the needle moves up and down, but it does not have the belt...

Any thoughts?

THANKS!!

No worries! Treadle belts are readily available on Amazon and eBay...and are cheap! However, if you're into rednecking it due to impatience like I am, some clothesline will work (needs to be vinyl so you can melt the two ends together). Just cut a decent length, loosely fit on machine, cut and melt.

I'm going to assume I'm going to get a few eye rolls from this method, but it's not going to hurt anything, and it will allow you to start cleaning up, and using your machine right away. Just make sure the melted end isn't bulky or overly bumpy. If it is, just take a little sandpaper, dremel, or knife and trim the hardened melted bulk away CAREFULLY.

Your LSMG might have them too, and SEW-CLASSIC does as well. Treadle belts are all over the place.
