Tulsa 99
Yesterday my son gave me a gift. A co-worker's mother was moving and she asked if I wanted a sewing machine. My good son said yes, of course. We were on the way to a restaurant. I got excited when I saw the bentwood case. It was locked and he didn't know what was in it. Didn't take me long to get it open. It had a spool of thread and a threaded bobbin.
I hand turned and sewed a napkin shut.
Knee control and guts were missing. Upgraded to safe wires and a modern foot pedal. I was a happy guy. It had a repair tag on it. Last year in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I wonder how close to the museum it was.
Gotta love 99s.

The solution here is to wear one of those bentwood case keys on a necklace, like I do.
Did you know it locks and opens most type 40 desks as well?
Great looking machine!
and yes. I know. I'm calling my sponsor now...

Paper napkin. I've done it before.
KarenH It was serviced at Will Rogers Sewing Machine shop Lee East may be the proprietor.
Base has been modified, but it works well.
Have you been to the museum at 55th and Peoria?
I keep a Singer key on my key ring. GF has 3 or 4 styles on hers. Opened this one with an awl blade on my Swiss Army knife.

I've never heard of that shop, it appears to be closed now according to Google.
I haven't been to the museum yet but plan to visit soon. It always seems that Mondays are the days I have a bit more time and it's not open then.
