It's either napping or having a bad migraine day. I love the irons on these, but the tiny machine seems out of proportion to me. I hope it has the nice bronze finish.

No ladder, he is just very very very tall and very very very out of touch with reality - the air that high up is a lot thinner...

From what I could see from the lousy dark photo's, the machine looks to be correct. I can also see a tinge of bronze on the irons.

I've actually got a set of irons for this machine in stunning condition, we've been looking for a reasonably priced head.

The seller says "THIS IS A PARLOR SEWING MACHINE".
I say, no, it is a parlor cabinet. Ugh. And what really is the purpose of the paperwork over having a couple of pictures of the machine? I wonder if they would sell just the paperwork.....

Sorry- I meant in general the machine seems too small for the elegant irons. I have 2 of them.

[QUOTE=grant15clone;6095571]$2976??? Where did they come up with THAT number??? ...Wow, just wow.
    ~G~[/QUOTE
I second those wow's. You can see the conversation between two doofuses:

"Let's say they was gonna pay us $2345?"

"Nah bro, you can't put the numbers all together like that. Mix 'em up a bit more..."

    "Okay. $2976"

Okay. . . This brainiac thinks it is a positive selling point that he completely stripped the paint and decals off the machine and put a coat of poly on the table. http://annarbor.craigslist.org/for/3843398033.html

That poor machine looks sew sad looking like that. Besides stripping the machine, he must have been "huffing" the paint stripper to come up with that price.
I meant to behave......but there were too many other options

A real case of "how not to sell a sewing machine"!

LOL! There are a lot of those photos lately. I think it has to do with phones that "auto rotate" the pictures to view them, but craigslist, etc having websites that don't know to rotate them. That's what happens when I post pics from my iPhone (if I take the pic "upside down" from what the phone thinks I should have), if I don't transfer them to my computer and "Adjust" first. You'd think if it's smart enough to auto rotate it, it would be smart enough to not care which direction I held the camera in, but no.

*head slap* it's a non-working Stylist 457 $100. (At least the "bobbin spinner" isn't working, possibly more...)

I can see removing paint from a machine that needs it ... but re-paint it (or sell as a "needs repaint", not a "cool bare metal" machine). Then again .. he might be playing to the steampunk crowd.

But poly on the wood?? And he didn't even bother to repair the veneers first. I suspect he also just slapped the poly right over the existing finish.

LOL Steve. You are right. That machine is a pretty machine and auntpigglypn is right too, it does look like it was well taken care of and hardly used. I would like to have that machine. Too far for me to drive from Chicago to go look at it though.

When I read the title, I was like "this I gotta see", and then I clicked on it and was immediately disappointed.
