    Just an observation . .

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed this.

When non-sewers photograph a sewing machine for a sale ad, they ALWAYS picture it from the back!?!?!?!?!?!?!

At least to me, that means that I can probably get it for a good price.

EXCEPTION - if of course the idiots who think that because their machine was purchased in the last 10 years and plastic, that it is ANTIQUE and worth 20x what it is really worth.

There is a guy on our local Craigslist that has a RARE ANTIQUE ONE OF A KIND SEWING MACHINE. He says it is the very first experimental motorized sewing machine. It is a Singer 15 in a treadle case with a motor added - not well - to the side of the machine with the control as a hand switch on the top. From the looks of it, you would have to sew really slow or it would take two people to run it.

And the SLASHED price he is asking now after 7 months for sale - $1800.00.

I wonder if it is looking for a bridge to buy?!?!?!?!?

5 pictures and not a single one of the front. Any idea on what model that is?

Well, it is either a 66 or a 99 godzilla finish. It looks like a 66 because the light comes farther back than most 99s.

    Miriam,

It is a 99. Note the flat face plate.

The light looks too small. I did see the flat face but wondered because of the light.

What is a selling price for a godzilla machine anyway?

    I don't think I've seen a godzilla 99 before either.

I don't think machines with that finish typically sell for more - unless they are also blackside- and then sometimes they sell for more. Usually the are listed for more. . .

Now if you get a godzilla attachment tin - those things can be worth some money!

Ok, this is a vintage sewing machine that is touted as "Brand New" and never used. A steal at the low, low price of $1,000!!!

It looks like the pictures were taken by a trapeze artist.

"The sewing machine works great and it looks awesomely beautiful, the cabinet has some nick, scratches, some white paint drop stains. It is a beautiful piece of wood so you can redo it what ever color or stain you like."

For that price you would think it's showroom.

No trapeze artist would be caught dead in socks and sandals! And I guess we'll have to take their word that it's "unused" since you can't tell anything about the machine except that it's a 15(-91?)

Those cases soak up any available moisture within a 10 block radius. I don't know what it is, but I've had 5 of them here, and only one of them is unmarked, and Alberta isn't known for its fishing if you know what I mean.

    Literally Barn fresh.

They took 2 cracks at spelling Antique, and apparently spell check has given up on them.

I bet it would be a good machine. I hope that being metal, it wouldn't retain the aroma of it's former home...

That's what I thought too. That $1900 machine I'd have thought about $120 would be reasonable! Not everyone is rich in Texas are they?
