I like to play a little game when they don't put the model # or price in the Heading. I will read it all and then try to invision what kind of wonderful machine will be in the pictures by the price they list in the body of the ad. I then scroll slowly, building the anticipation of what I will see. Then I giggle a little!!! (or sometimes I just bust out loud laughing!)

Makes me wonder what attachments and 'pressure' feet make this machine so valuable.

    Grandma's "RARE" sewing machine

apparently, if you put "This is a excellent deal for this item. " in the ad, it makes it true. . .

http://kansascity.craigslist.org/atq/2883246673.html I want a picture of this rare machine
http://kansascity.craigslist.org/atq/2882008819.html Need a picture for this gem

I am surprised as most of the machines appear to be reasonably priced including a FW for $250. There is an industrial leather Singer Sm also in the KC area for sale on CL.
I meant to behave......but there were too many other options

*sigh* Dear seller, Old =/= gold! http://norfolk.craigslist.org/atq/2883452468.html

This one is a good price, but Hubby's eyes would roll so hard they'd fall out if I brought it home. Any takers?

Hmmm... wonder why they think appraisal amount is what they will get for the machine. And where are the pictures?

What value is he placing on the 'original patina'?

You know after looking at so many of the unrealistic prices put on vintage and antique sewing machine, I have been thinking that perhaps we should create our own Vintage Sewing Machine Bluebook. I sure would like to see one of the Sewing Machine Bluebooks that was discussed earlier to see what the pricing is based on. What do you think of myidea???

Well, that one made my jaw hit the desk. . . . .but has had over 5000 views according to the counter at the bottom. Sure is prertty though. Don't think Hubby will let me stretch our budget that much.

I've considered it, but it would be nearly impossible. There are too many variables to be able to do an accurate pricing guide, and I could see it causing some problems among us...what I think a machine is worth is NOT what others think they're worth...

Ah, Charlee, I see that great minds think alike. I do agree with you that one person's trash is another's treasure. Just ask my husband!!!
