I can remember making marbles do that when I was a kid - you heat them hot then put them on ice...

Thanks for posting that!! No, I'm not going to buy it, I acquired a 99k this weekend and the motor was unbadged, (the bracket was) and I wondered if it was original. Since the one you posted has original dirt on it, and the same set up, I'll guess that the one I have is probably original too.

Update: this CANNOT be the machine discussed in the museum display. The Willcox & Gibbs serial number A 685221 dates it for after 1917... The wheels are fine (could have been replaced, but still) date is wrong.

beautiful machine and cabinet though, and the price was right.
