"May need some repairs"? Um, what was their first clue; the gaping hole near the stitch plate? Or the tuft of toilet paper trying to stuff the thread spool holder?

That said, it does look like a cool machine.
Dial-o-matic? What's to dial? The tension knob seems to be missing. it looks like they stuck a q tip in the spool pin hole and it fell in! But yes, it's kinda cool.

I don't know if the machine takes unusual needles...yet!! I believe what you are seeing in the photo are feet and parts of feet. I hope to play with the stuff in the drawers today at the very least and get the cabinet plus machine into the hospital (my living room) today. I will post about the needle packets later. The machine came with a manual so that may clear up the unusual needle question ~ I hope.

The machine does take the CC1221 type of needles. I believe I have possibly 50 packets of those almost all in one size. So far have only found one packet that's a different size. The machine manual is very interesting to read and the feed dogs drop for darning (yeah right) but also FMQ.

Does it have a knob under the bed, like the 15-91, that drops the feed dogs?

Mark;

There is a thumb screw underneath that releases the feed lifting crank and renders the feed dogs inoperable. The stitch regulator is moved to the neutral position.

I am wondering if this manual is also good for my other New Home Lite Running sewing machine and if that beast takes the special aka weird needles which I assume are no longer findable.
