I would bet money that the "singer" was added by someone along the way...
It looks like an old Wanzer or some such European.
The take-up being on top of the needlebar and the overall shape would make me guess 1890's to 1915 range.
I bid on this, but I will not go too high on an unknown refab.

I know it's not a SIMANCO Singer, however at times, some foreign companies tried to get by using the name. I also think it looks European, mostly because I pay attention to US made machines, and this one is different. BTW - Did Singer make any ones with the shuttle going back and forth in that direction? The underside shows it's a straight path, not an arc. I know Singer has some side to side that traveled a straight line.
I do not think this was originally sold as a "child's" machine. But there is a much larger (and higher$$$ ) market for "toys" than adult machines.
