Wow that one brings back the memories. My father's grandmother and my mother's mother both had one of those when I was a very little girl. They are both gone now. But I remember great grandma sewing one hers. K

I provide administrative support to 4 directors, CEO and CFO. This was a personal gift from a director and his wife, not the company. That is what makes it so special. He really did not have to do something like that. But, he has always been very kind and appreciative towards me.

OK, now I see a stand like the one I have! It still has the machine in but the belt is gone. I got a cataoluge recently that sold the belts. this machine was my great-grandmother's. When she got an electric machine, she gave the treadle to my mother. Five girls and she got the treadle machine!! I remember sewing on it was I was little. When my great-grandmother died, I got her 'new' machine. I took it out of it's cabinet and put my Elna in it back in 1980-something. The old machine is out in my attic - probably besides the basement, the worse place to store it! now, I have to go check the treadle and root out the electric. I have a treasure in more ways than one.

Cleo is a Singer 27 with vibrating shuttle. I haven't tried her out yet - she is still in the warehouse until I can get her home.
