White Rotary Electric- Where do you lube?
Hi all,
Need some help here. I bought a WRE recently, like new, w/ cabinet, $35, Yay!!, anyway, the orig. bill of sale lists it as 1955, I also have the manual. I swear it looks brand new, but I've gone over it anyway, cleaning, oiling. I have vintage Singers, but these are different. The manual does Not show the specific place for lubricant- (not the oil) I've undone a few screws, had springs pop out at me, and closed it up quick! It is probably fine w/o new lube, but it will bother me until I know. (anyone else like that?) The manual says "Two cups (one at each end of the motor shaft)provide for lubrication. Unscrew caps and fill w special lubricant, or petroleum jelly...every 6 months." Problem is, there looks to be about 6 screws in that area. I'd hate to ruin a good machine. (tried to post picture-no luck) Can anyone help?

If you don't get an answer, PM Glenn, who wrote the original post on repairing the finish on old sewing machines, which is one of the "stickies" at the top of this forum. I think he actually uses his. I sent him some bobbins for a white rotary a couple of years ago.
