absolutely a good buy...the singer 15s were not much bigger than a featherweight but are much heavier and totally little workhorses...

I think a 15 for $25 is a good buy. The serial number for the one you saw makes it a 1951 model. If you do get it, I would check the wiring over very carefully before plugging it in. The wiring on these is sometimes deteriorated.

You should be able to get many years of good sewing with a 15k as a partner. Good Luck!

It would already be sewing at my house by now. I have one and I love her.

Oops...in 1985 you could have had my 1980 Singer for free...I would have paid you to take it. After over 10 trips to the sewing machine repair shop, I prayed that it would be stolen from my car....now that I look back, it was a rather strange way of dealing with this problem, when there were so many dumpsters around.....I took a hammer to it in frustration....when I "traded it in" the dealer politely stated, "I'll use it for parts...." ....bet he utilized the dumpster behind his shop....

If your machine is pre-1980 it is probably wonderful....but the '80's...forgetaboutit....
