Okay I saw this machine driving to hospital. Was going to stop but didn't want it in car while visiting cause it would have been gone. So it was still there on way back. got it for 30.00. Cabinet needs to be refinished. I look up the Serial number and it said it was made in 1941 but what model is it. the number on it is AF900981 I keep doing searches and just get fustrated. can any one point me in the right direction to fild out the model

According to ISMACS here { http://www.ismacs.net/singer_sewing_...l-numbers.html } it is a Model 201. One of 15,000 allotted 4-15-41.

Good going, I have my grandmothers 201-3 and it is a great machine, and lots of space to roll up a quilt to work on it.
