IMHO if I simply re-drafted/copied another quilter's work, I don't think I'd have the nerve to give people a hard time as they help others through the process, but that's just me.
just what are you trying to say here

No problem :) I knew I wanted to use the freezer paper from the grocery as it's waayyy cheaper than the stuff that's packaged for quilter's and this works nicely.

I'm just saying that they both benefit from each other and I don't see what all the fuss is over. In order to do DJ, you have to buy the supplies from one of Brenda's methods. Thatquilt brings people in that Brenda hasn't...whether they're using the name of the quilt or not. thatquilt is no different than quilt shops teaching pattern completion as long as each student purchases their own materials.
I also think that if I were publishing patterns they'd be original, not copies of another quilter's work.

She just changed the name, as I far as I knew. Lots of blogs change location. In any case, the blog isn't much different from what we're doing here, really.

Oh no, not at all, Klue. I'm just saying that there was a lot of fuss all over the internet when that quilt blog had to change names and if I were Brenda and the original work of art was not mine to begin with, I'm not sure that I'd have had the nerve to go out there making people change a site simply meant to help others in the process.

I'm pretty sure what she's saying isn't directed at you, Kelly.

From what I understand she thinks Brenda has some nerve to claim any kind of "rights" to the designs in the Jane Stickle quilt, because they are not her (Brenda's) original works, but rather an interpretation of Jane Stickle's.

That's my understanding, anyway.

i believe "that quilt" blog used to have a much different name until brenda shut her down.
I was agreeing with you, Klue...sorry for the confusion.
