Love seeing everyone's blocks; I couldn't choose a favorite if I had to!

JanRN, Your April shows the pattern great! I like the dark/light look you used. I wasn't keen on the pattern until I saw your block. I think I'm going to copy your idea. :-)

Thanks ladies for the compliments. I'm still not 100% sold on batiks but I have so many I'm determined to use them.

I'm getting a little nervous--never thought I'd want to work with 30s fabrics but the blocks you ladies have done have me rethinking that. Just what I need to do--buy MORE fabric!! Great blocks everyone.

I agree cooky, I love to see what everyone else is doing! Well after resisting the use of templates, I finally broke down and decided to do it last night after ripping out yet another seem because the piece I cut didn't fit. Boo. So during some slow time at work today, I printed out the templates for Anne and cut the rest of my fabric for her. Didn't bring enough to do the same with April, but I can at least cut out and organize my template pieces so the fabric cutting will be easier.

    Good Morning Ladies,
I'm new with the FW, mine is a 221 & the year is 1954 I would like to know about those FW 30's patterns. How can
I find these? I see a group might start in Sept. I might want to do these sq's. Help Please.

judi, FW in this case doesn't stand for Featherweight but for Farmer's Wife. The blocks we're doing is a 30s sampler quilt based on letters to the FW magazine.

Judi - we would love to have you join in our quilt along. We do 2 blocks a week. You do have to buy the book Carrie listed above.

Husky, I think a lot of these blocks are easier to do with templates. I've done a couple pp and a couple with templates and don't see a difference. When we did the first FWS quilt I template pieced all 99 blocks. I think we need to do what works for us, what gives the best result, and mostly what is most enjoyable.

Like Jan, I've done both PP and piecing on this quilt so far. I have pieced #9 Aunt (so easy), and plan to piece #10,12,13,14 and 16. I have not looked ahead from there.
