Kallie, I am using colors that work well with yellow. My strips and my solid color tris are lemon yellow. I am using pinks, lavenders and purples, various shades of teal and aqua, light green, blue, brown plum, different shades of burgundy and maybe some orange. I haven't decided about the orange yet. It goes great with yellow but I don't know if it would work with my other colors and then I look at the original DJ and she used every color imagineable and it worked out great.

Bettia, I finally completed 11 blocks; some of them I did 2 or 3 times. I tried making B-2 using the directions on ThatQuilt blog and I couldn't get the half-square triangles the right size. I am making my blocks 5.5 inches so my quilt will fit on my king size pillow top mattress. I finally printed the templates for B-2 and B-3 and machine pieced them in no time. I use 3 pins. I pin each end to line up and then I put a pin in the center of the circle. Stitch slowly and work the bias around your needle so it doesn't crease or bunch up. It's kind of like easing in a sleeve. I haven't posted any pictures yet because I have to go back and read the instructions again on how to post pictures. I am also working on a quilt for my DGGD's 1st birthday and a quilt for our church's centennial celebration. I'm also in charge of the Prayer Shawl Ministry at our church, so I carry my knitting with me when I go to the doctors; I've spent a lot time lately in MD offices. I keep hoping and praying that this summer will be quieter and I can really have time to quilt. Good luck with your printer and your blocks.

Linda, both of your blocks look great. I can't tell which one is regular applique and which one is reverse applique. I'd be proud to put either one of those into my quilt.

Is this the Glad Press'n seal? If so, how do you use it? How do you print the pattern on it? How do you apply it to the material?

PJNessler, thanks for the complements on the smooth edges on the applique. Secret??? Beginner's luck, I guess! I just followed the instructions and tucked the edges of the material under the edge of the freezer paper on the reverse applique and on the regular Applique, I did what SandPat suggested and added GV09's great tutorial for perfect circles to draw the edges up and over the template and then pressing with a hot dry iron and then "painting" the edges with spray starch by spraying in the lid and using a paint brush and pressing again. I did learn by mistake that you do need to do this starch press while the template is still in...not after you remove it as the crease in the material from the first press rapidly disappears when you get it wet with the starch! Guess I am just an old 4-Her who still "learns by doing"!

I too am doing trip around the world but with any fabric that is the right color. Hope I get the right amount of lights and dark fabrics so that is is pleasing. But, too much fabric around this house. Let's use it up.

I have the DJ software and when I printed out the triangle for this week, it printed 4.5 x 4.5. What do I have to do to change the size for printing?

Gls - when printing, there is a box to check labled "size from quilt"

tyme - yes it is Glad press and seal. I place it on my pattern and trace the block. The cut it apart with a craft knife and use it like I would freezer paper. It is clear so sometimes hard to see, but when I am doing curves, it is flexiable enough to stay on the fabric while I manipulate it. I probably get a better result with freezer paper and tracing the sewing lines, but when I have the kids around and want to do a block, I pull out this product. No iron necessary. I have also used it for Hand quilting templates. Cut my shape, press it to the quilt, and stitch next to the edge.

I've had Press and Seal stretch when cutting it apart, so use caution. Some scissors do not like it, so I used a ruler and craft knife. Might even try pressing it to scratch paper and cutting it while affixed.

Unfortunately, the software has the option "size from quilt" but it is "grayed" out. I must be doing something wrong. Having measured the triangle in the book, it measures 5 x 8 inches. I can insert the numbers but not the default.

you have to be printing from the quilt, not from the block. go to your quilt layout and choose the block. then use the little print arrow just as before. now your size from quilt option should be active :)

i enlarged my triangle border and my sashing, so mine are 5.5 x 8.75
