Mary - look at the greenfairyquilts.blogspot for machine quilting inspiration and go for it!!! I am going to QAYG by hand. Handquilting gives a much softer finish - although I have pieced most of these blocks by machine so far so it shouldn't matter that much. Hand quilting will take much longer - on the other hand you could most assuredly quilt one block each night watching TV [can't do that by machine - not with your feet up anyway.]

just giving tips :) on why and why not... you will be finished much faster by machine - particularly if your blocks are totally finished. Do it by machine girl and start on the next project!!! so many possibilities [patterns, etc] and not nearly enough time... at last count I had 31ufos :D:confused::shock::eek::eek:

WOWWWWW!!!
ALL BLOCKS ARE WONDERFUL!
Congrats, Ladies!
All did a great job!
Yesterday arrived my birthday gifts!
Came the "EQ7", "Dear Jean" with its rules and "Dear Hanna" (dream in the future)!
And the site of Brenda sent me gift a PIN, look how beautiful!
The works have improved in my house. You need to wait 20-30 so dry the walls very well. Then come the painters do their job. And in the end... deep cleaning!
So I only went to tell my joy! And today I could sew a small block of another bill of materials. And represents my great state of mind, I show them a photo!
I've enjoyed every one of your blocks and tonight dream with mine!
They have a wonderful week!
A hug!

WOW WOW WOW - A Happy & Lucky Gladys!!! and a very late happy birthday!!!! How is your house looking?

a small word of warning - those dear Jane rulers are wonderful for cutting finished blocks to the right size. Just make sure you don't grab it thinking it has normal block markings because the "0.0" point starts 1/4# in. I am thinking about getting some bright paint, nailpolish, or narrow tape to mark the zero point on the square.
