Maybe this quilt could be made with multiple sized blocks? That might be fun to try...

I have all my fabric now, but really want to get a couple other quilts finished. I know once I start one block I won't want to stop. :)

I've kept in the background for to long with my stars. Everyone's are so beautiful. I did start with the original group and now the new comers are kindling my star fire. Here is what I've done so far. I always showed them individually because I wanted to have a bunch done in both sizes so y'all could see how cool it looks. I didn't want a huge quilt which is why I started making some 6". They're still on my list to finish. I even have four bagged to sew!!! Time to add them to my schedule???

I also started doing 6" when the original group started but unfortunately family health issues got in the way and I was unable to continue.

I have still been following the thread though and will keep watching.

Sheri your mixed blocks look wonderful.

OOOoooooooooHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhh ! ! ! ! I just ordered the book just in case there is a January group.

SheriR.: Lovin' the blocks ! ! ! !

So . . . the book w/the CD lets you do various sizes? That's an added treat.
The possibilities are endless . . . GP

There is a instruction CD that comes with the book and a CD/downloadable program that you can buy to change the block sizes...not sure which CD you are getting, but here is the link to the 2nd on I mentioned: http://www.quiltpro.com/page/Foundat...0_Fab_Mainpage (You can also buy the book/cd w/the other CD as a set on Carol Doak's website)

I have made several from the first time around, but didn't finish it. I'd like to work some more with you in Jan.

Sheri, those blocks look great! Thanks for the pics, I was debating doing some in 6 inch and now I'll have to try it. Maybe I will shell out the funds for that second CD, I was just planning on downsizing them on my copier.

Kael, My book did not come with CDs. I'm so disappointed lol..I just use my trusty 'ol copier. And it's been so long since I did one, I'll have to re-size again... blahhhh...

No need to shell out $ $ $ $ for the "enlargement/reduction" CD. In Carol Doak's Easy Machine Paper Piecing, she tells you how to do it. On page 5, Doak introduces you the tool: Proportional Scale. I've used this countless times on other projects. "You align the size of the original on the inner wheel with the desired size of the reduction of enlargement on the outer wheel, and like magic, the percentage of reduction or enlargement appears in the window." Direct quote instructions from the book. Simple to use. I purchased mine at Office Max years ago for $2.95 (I store it in the original package that still has the price on it) - shouldn't be too much more than that today (hopefully) . . . .GP

Thanks for the tip Groovy, I will look into that. My problem with my copier is that the paper doesn't always feed exactly straight. It usually close enough so that it doesn't really matter, but I'm not sure if the problem will be exacerbated with a resize.
