!!!Happy Birthday Babies!!!

Honchey! your absence has been noted! GLAD to see you back :D

POOR Dh :( yesterday he had to go to meditation for his fathers guardianship. he was in the meeting for five hours! Dh and siblings found out that one brother and wife that has been caring for dad for the last 5 years has made off with dads ENTIRE assets! it is a sad sad thing that such an incredible man that has WORKED for every penny, fought 4 wars, has countless accomplishments has been reduced down to nothing but a burden, WHY? because of dementia? so now Dh and siblings have to decide if they are going to file for elderly abuse and see where it all goes.

happy Superbowl everyone! the BEST sewing day of the year! LOL :D :D :D

QuiltE 02-03-2013 10:42 AM

CarrieM and JeanieG ... a lot of Robin Hoods in the making! :) Not sure what you call it, but a friend did the bow and arrow thing where it was kind of like a adventure/scavenger hunt thru the forest where they went off for the day. Always wondered how safe they were with others out doing the same thing.

CarrieM ... do the kids all get to go to State/National if they wish? or do they have to win at each lower level to proceed? Where might you be going to for Nationals? Somewhere exciting I hope!

OKSGlad ... what a nice sewing cabinet. Look forward to hearing more about your new machine!

MiraB ... yes, get that camera clicking and show us hwt you're up to now! So many different interpretations ... to me Grill is American for a BBQ! Count me in on the pork supper!

Anael ... No news is indeed good news and even better news with your morning update!!! Did you hear us all *sigh* with happiness! Looking to see your collection of little hats! What are you using? fleece? flannel?

QNSue ... we never had a pastry blender as a kid, and were taught how to use two knives cutting together to do that job.

JeanieG ... never heard of using the pastry blender as a hand mixer! Good idea and must try it. Should have asked you ... is the cake any good without all the topping on it? I like my sweets, but that looks like it could be overload.

Honchey ... Welcome baaaaaaaaaack! I was about ready to send out a search party. Good to know you have your BBs done! I think the next challenge will be for us to get our BBs made into something and not let them become an UFO. It's going to be interesting to see all the different spins each of the 13 make to their BBs. SO good to have you back and hope that your internet/computer cooperate to keep you here! :)

CarrieM ... You'll surely be the first with your BBs assembled! :) A reward for your extra work in coordinating!!!

DublB ... rest today and get better!

DDamsel ... oh so sad about your FIL. I'm sure it is hard on your DH, and his siblings to know about the brother and his actions. Pathetic. You go and enjoy that Super Bowl Sewing!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

And like DDamsel .... I am off to sew for teh rest of the day!

QuiltingNinaSue 02-03-2013 11:43 AM

Rest and Relaxation here all day; will be going to get the FWSQ Tomorrow! I can hang it there and take a picture or two to post when I get home. Will update everyone then.

DD., I feel for your dh; so much we have gone through with my DGM and DM and FIL and MIL...no doubt about it, we are equally matched in families on both sides. We have warned the lawyer with the wills to notify the sheriff on our deaths 'cause they will come in and grab all that they can without our children's knowledge. When MIL died, the one daughter did not share with my dh (money $80,000. or things)...in fact, she was storing a lot of my Mother's things which also disappeared without my knowledge. Life goes on. They cannot escape judgment day that will come to them.

Yes, Honchey, I was glad to see your post. Welcome back!! Life can really get busy at times...and builds up like there are not enough hours in the day to get everything done!!

Oh DD how awful! {{{{Huggs}}}}

JeanieG 02-03-2013 12:04 PM

OMG Deranged - that is so sad about your FIL's assets. You hear of this going on all the time, and it always amazes me how greedy some people are! Perhaps with the dementia, your dear FIL will not be aware of what has happened to him. Of course, that leaves the rest of the siblings in a bind.

QuiltE - yes the cake is good without the frosting, but the broiled frosting layer is not thick (but very yummy)!

Honchey - we have missed you! Glad to see you are back with us again! You have pages of reading ahead of you, we are a very chatty group, as you know!!!!

OK - I missed congratulating you on your new cabinet. It is a beauty!!!

Anael - great news on Bram! Now for Isa to get there too!

dublb - wow, that is beautiful! How fun to have a new vehicle! We have a 4-wheel drive Jeep Liberty that we tow behind the motorhome, and that is what I drive. It looks about the size of your new Toyota, I love it!

Anael 02-03-2013 01:51 PM

DD, sorry about your FIL.

Bev, nice car :D

QuiltE, no I'm using jersey. It has to be washed on 140F and flannel doesn't stretch. They told me to make the hats a bit bigger :D So I did! I forgot to take pictures, my DDIL will do that as soon as they're dry. They're in the washing machine right now.

Latest news: they're both farting LOL LOL. With a little help though. Bram has some bowel movement, that was a problem too. He's doing # 1 and # 2 on his own today, that's a big achievement! Isa could pee without any help. We never knew we could be so happy with full diapers :D

dublb 02-03-2013 02:04 PM

LOL Yes full diapers are good! :)
