A very Happy New Year to all of you.

I echo what GG said above; its been a great year on the trail with all of you. As a cowboy would say, "would ride the river with you again"...highest compliment for his saddle pardners he rode with on the trail.

Thanks to QB for letting us saddle up together, thanks to Honchey for guiding us through the FWQ and and the PC trail. Its been quite a ride, and I'd do it again with the same group in a NY minute. May you all be blessed in the New Year with happiness and good quilting!! See you all next year....in 2013!!

My first finish for the New Year. I have been working on these for a few weeks doing the embroidery. In July my patchwork club is having a Show n Tell. We have a raffle, lucky door prizes, giveaways and gifts for attendees. We invite around 120 and we do all the catering, three course meal. Call us crazy but we only do this every two years.

Anyway our raffle this year is a crazy patch quilt made entirely from wedding dresses, lots of lace and embellishment, second prize will be these two cushions and third prize is a tote bag.
We have made 120 placemats embroidered with Patches of Bluewater 2013 and one member has made 120 beaded brooches We hope to have an ongiong raffle throughout the day with patchwork bags as the prizes. Lots and lots of work but so much fun.

My memory from our 2011 exhibition was at the end of the day there were about six of us who had stayed to clean up and we were sitting on the floor eating a mango cheescake, no plates just forks. I seem to remember someone saying "never again" but here we are gearing up for another great day.

OMG Mirabelle, those are simply stunning! I cannot believe the work your group has put into your Show and Tell Day! Wow! I wish I was one of the lucky ones attending your Day!

Thanks JeanieG, will make sure I take my camera this year.
Hot off the machine is Jamestown Landing, final border on. DH chose the fabric, it is a little light for me but he liked it. Will take it to my LQS in a couple of weeks and quilt it.
Tried to take a photo of the border print but the battery died in my camera.

Wow mirabelle, those cushions are stunning! How did you embroider those? I wish I could be at your Show and Tell Day Too!
The quilt is beautiful, I love the colors.

Hi Anael, they are embroidered on my Pfaff Creative Vision 4.0 they are designs from Kenny Kreations and are called Candlewicking and Roses, they each took about 5 hours and have approximately 90,000 stitches.

The quilt is the second Jamestown Landing, the first was my daughters, done in blues that we made at retreat, just took me a little longer to get mine pieced

Thanks Mirabelle! Is it a split design? I never done so many stitches, I think most was around 60,000 and I thought that was a lot!

mirabelle 01-01-2013 03:41 AM

Anael the designs are already split and they lined up perfectly, so you have an embroidery machine with a big hoop

Mirab, you are one busy and productive lady. Those pillows are beautiful and I love your quilt. I don't use light colors either but these are so nice together and make a very "comforting" quilt. I love your idea of a show & tell day-wow that's a lot of work! Like the others, wish I could be there.

Worked all day yesterday and got 2 borders on my PC quilt. I'm not sure about the 4" blocks in the border now. I AM NOT taking them out LOL!!! I'm not a math genius so it took me forever to get the spacing. If these borders end up waving at ya, just smile & wave back please. Not sure if I'll get to work on the other 2 borders today--my shoulders are killing me. I'd like to post a pic of progress but when we started our kitchen re do we put the camera in a "safe" place. Where??? I guess it's really safe. I am excited that the end is in sight for this quilt just not sure about the borders.

Happy & healthy 2013 everyone! Peace-Jan

Jan, that's the kind of safe places I use too :D Waiting for you to post your pic :D :D
