Mirabelle....what an honor to be invited to your show and tell party. You women really put on a party! I love the pillows ands your quilt is so beautiful! Too bad there is such a big stretch of water in between us or you can be sure you would have some PC party crashes! I was offered a small Brother embrodiery maching the other day but declined. I know I could never achieve the kind of work that you have shown us and anything short of that wouldn't satisfy me.
Jan...good work on the PC quilt. I've gotten completely sidetracked but haven't forgotten it. Riding by on a horse and no way we see any wave. Good work!
Jeanie...I just saw the final reveal for the mystery quilt. I won't get that done in a day even though I was all caught up. Probably will watch some of the Rose Parade today and think of you.
It's about 25 degrees now and it might get above freezing by late afternoon. Not much snow melting today. DH doesn't have his usual TV shows to watch so I don't know how much sewing I'll get done. A quiet day to begin the new year.

Outstanding, MiraB!!
First finish on the First Day!
And a top ready to be quilted that's a beauty too.

It must be quite an honour to be one of the invitees to your Show N Tell!
It'd sure be a treat to be able to attend and I am sure many clamour for the invitation. :)

JanRN ... great work to have your two borders on. Now take a break and let your body relax a little before going onwards to the other two sides. Now where's the least likely place that you carefully put your camera? That's probably where it'll be!! :) Better find it soon, as we want to see all those ponies put together!!

BBs ... are progressing!! Yeaaaa!!

Remember last year when we talked about selecting fabrics for quilts? Here is a link you all might enjoy. Be sure and click on the link in her blog called Design Seeds. It's really neat and helpful. http://www.pileofabric.com/post/2012...ll-builder-bom
OK volunteered to do a little instructing on values, hues, etc. Maybe this could be a jumping off point for some learning together.

Happy New Year to you all. :)

I was busy this weekend...worked 10 hrs Saturday and another 5 Sunday at the LQS. We were doing inventory. My 14 yo DD came to work with me and helped. We made a good team recording fabric yardages. Yesterday was a trip to town and then home to relax!

Not much going on here today...maybe a little time in the clubhouse. Working on BBs and assembling rows for my Rosie quilt.

JeanieG ... I've been thinking of you this morning, as I watch the Rose Bowl Parade.
A couple of my neighbours went this year!!

Hi all, Happy New Year!

gardnergal - Yes, the Easy Street reveal was amazing - so much movement! It will take a while to get that put together, as I have not finished Step 7 yet. I can't believe she put a regular border on it, but anything else would have been too much!

gardnergal & QuiltE - I've only been to the Rose Bowl Parade once - around 35 years ago. I just hate crowds and that parade is jammed. I think you get a better and much closer view of the floats on the TV. It was really cool here this morning, and only 61* right now. I hope those people had a lot of layers on!

Mirabelle - Jamestown Landing turned out wonderful! It reminds me of the new Easy Street Mystery Quilt with all its light neutrals.

Jan - I envy you to be so far along with your PC quilt. My blocks are still in drawers on hold for right now!

Jeanie--I had to LOL at your "only 61*", since it just reached 11 here! :) Thankfully the sun is shining.

Carrie - you gotta realize that this is sunny California! Our average temperature year round is around 70* in our area. We have had the coldest December that I can remember! We are just not use to this "cold" weather! :D

Wow QuiltE, is that a book? It's beautiful and I love the quilts and blocks on the barns. I wish I lived over there on the other side of the pond! We don't have classes like that over here :(

carriem 01-01-2013 01:56 PM

Jeanie--I get it! It is like here in the fall when it gets down to 60s it seems cool but in the spring 60s is warm.
