Linda, I worked at the George Phippen Western Art Museum in Prescott AZ. I Learned so much about it and fell for it. Was so great to meet the artists and touch all the bronze work.
Am loving your work. And mf, your eagles are perfect. Keep it coming. Hate not having my machine when so much is in my head to do!

Nana pat, We're a pretty loose group, nothing official, no sign ups. Just a group doing a project from all different angles. We'd love to have you join in.
m-fay, Great sky. A hawk, riding the thermals?? Did you do all that in strips joined with an angle cut?
Well, this isn't how I saw it in my mind but it's how it turned out. LOL I cut all these 2.5 inch squares and started with a random placement but didn't like it and so was trying for a evening, fading light sort of thing. It's about 32" wide and will be a wall hanging or table runner. My next row will be mountains, as if in the distance. I have a paper pieced pattern I'll use. It's been a while since I've done that (except for the eagles) and I've already goofed up forgetting that things are reversed. Am hoping to make the sky behind the mountains blend into the main sky. Maybe a sunset.

lv2sew2011...they will be bald eagles? you gave me the idea to add a Wedgetailed eagle to mine. Thanks! No mountains in my landscape, just a bit of break away hills, red dirt & spinafex. This next row will be a real challenge & I will do it different than the sky.it will be strips. The sky I fused my fabric to visaflex then cut it into half inch strips & cut again into 2" to 4" lengths, placed them & ironed them on, then stippled it to catch all the pieces.... sort of like I read about a "confetti" quilt. When I get closer to the foreground, I will do small squares....at least that is the plan, but plans sometimes change!
