"Spike Your English" Block of the Month Quilt-Along

Count me in, Honchey! Akweiland...PP can have it's frustrations but the finished product really is worth the effort. I don't know what fabric I will be using either. I do like what Carrie has chosen and Mirabelle's are so different. endless possibilities.
OK and Dibib...so glad you are keeping in touch and you know what will happen if you linger around the edge of a hole...pit....too long???.....you fall in! Like JanRN said, these blocks can so easily be used for smaller individual projects.

I think I might just be caught up with other projects & ready by September to be able to join in on this one- I love paper piecing- and this looks like a fun project. now I need to get busy & finish up 4 other quilts- 2 ready to quilt, 2 still in the piecing/appliqueing stages ... thanks for giving me a (shove) to get busy!

My fabrics for those who haven't seen them...I've added a couple and taken a couple out, but this gives you an idea...all have metalic gold on them.
Welcome to all. Several of us have done other quilt-alongs together here on the board thanks to Honchey who keeps us moving forward by posting new threads and encouraging us.

Hi Everyone & Welcome... A very nice showing of "hands" today..so far we have 11 including myself...
Carriem, very nice array of fabrics..can't wait to see them in a block.. I think I will "shop" for this one...
Jan, I think a bed runner with a set of shams would be a great way to use these blocks...
How about a table runner in Christmas Fabrics...the points in the blocks remind me of Pointsettias...Hmmm...

Mark your calenders,
A new 'SYE" Quiltalong will be starting September 3, 2013
On this quiltalong we'll be making a total of twelve 16" x 14" rectangular blocks.
Two a month with the exception of December. all of these blocks are paperpieced.
This is sort of a mystery as we don't know the layout for the quilt.
The patterns for these blocks can be downloaded "free" from www.quiltingonthesquare.com.
Blocks April thru August are posted in their BOM section.
Permission has been given from the website.

I'm in too! I have bought some fabric, and picked out others from my stash. I still need to get my white on white and am wondering how much I should get. Do you think two yards would be enough??? I am getting one yard pieces of the fabrics, as I want to use the same fabrics for all the blocks, and those blocks are pretty big!
