My blocks don't measure 101/2 They are about 101/4. Can I trim them? I am a beginner.

sharen.. if you trim your blocks they will only get smaller not bigger, guess it's time too become friends with mr. ripper. Have fun and know you are not alone, we all feel your pain.

For anyone who is having trouble with the 1/4 inch try this: Take some scraps and cut them into short 2 1/2 inch strips. Just short. Say 3-4" long. Sew them together. Press. Measure. The should measure 4 1/2". If they do then you know you are sewing them correctly. If not, move your needle or your guide until when you sew them together and press they come out correctly. I hope that makes sense.

Same here PokerDiva! I thought maybe I was losing it at first! Now I realize that it is the website problem.

I tried to answer your question, but it wouldn't load, still having trouble with posting. Something wrong with the site, gremlins in the machine. Will try again. If you make your blocks 10-1/2 by 10-1/4 they will not fit properly when you do a set of directions down the road.. Mr. Ripper will be your best friend as Luannh said LOL Since you are a beginner, and this is a learning experience, I highly suggest you try and fix them at this point. If you don't feel it is worth the effort, I will try to add something in the next set of directions to help you fix your problem. However, if you make something bigger than this little quilt, every row will compound the wrong measurements and you will not be able to fix it. Hope I'm not being preachy, and hurting your feelings, but I did stress the 10-1/2" width.

If I were you, I would not put E at the end, put it in the 2nd, 3rd or 4th position.

marytodd - If you can get into Long Beach at the convention center at the end of July, it is the very best show in town. I end up spending 3 days there.

Florence, you will be having a little left-over fabric, not a whole lot.
