looking for non treated canvas
#1
I make the moravian Christmas cookies each year. I have a small pastry cloth that I purchased. However, I would like to purchase some non treated canvas to make a larger pastry cloth. Does anyone have any idea where I could purchase this at a reasonable price?
Thanks,
Charlene

Have you looked for unbleached canvas in the fabric store? I don't think that it's treated.
Depending on how big you want the fabric - try a local hardware store for the fabric drop-cloth.
EDIT - Amazon.com has some listings for pastry cloth 20x24 inches - http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_no...s=pastry+cloth

www.darhmatrading.com has a lot in the way of dye ready fabrics...which is to say it is free of any fillers and is just the fabric. They have many natural fiber fabrics. It is primarily a dyeing supply house but they have blanks in clothing, accessories and yardage. Prices are reasonable as is shipping. I buy from them to make my own hand dyes and have used the canvas. It seems to me that would be a good resource for chemical free canvas which is what you are looking for.

Thanks so much to everyone for their help. I stopped by my local Hancock fabric store this morning. They had canvas. It was 6.99 a yard. So I purchased a yard. I also had a 40%off coupon. Wow this cost me a lot less than the small pastry cloth that I purchased about a year ago. Now to serge the edges and into the wash. Yeah for me:)
