My son and I are going for brunch. took the furs to the furrier for the summer months, and I saw a great jacket for $600 on sale. my jacket would have been $185-195 to fix, so I treated myself to a new one. I'll pay for brunch with my son, he's out of work and I want to be with him, not take his last few bills he does have.

I had all my children close together so it was a house full of preschoolers, teenagers and such. I used to get bedding plants and a whole day to myself to plant them. No kids, no house, no cooking etc. What a treat. Now that my kids are grown and I have day after day where I can do what I want they come and plant the planters and such and that is a treat. I get to enjoy flowers for months.

My daughter got me a FitBit. I guess she's trying to tell me something!

I ordered myself a ladder from Little Giant, it's a ladder that converts to a step stool. It's not real big but it is sturdy and just what I need. I'm short and I'm tired of having to wait until my husband is around to reach something for me.

My DH can reach about a foot higher than I can. He likes to "organize" by pushing stuff on the top shelf to the back.
Now I make a point of asking "Hon, will you get ___ from that shelf?" as often as I can.

My dh and sons and I took my mother and my sister who lives with her to dinner last night. We also bought some geraniums for deck. My dh and my older son got me son hanging baskets for the yard. My younger son got me a quilt book with 64 patterns to use with precuts. He told me he thought it could be useful since I am retiring at the end of June.

I got a card from the girls and dh. I also got a pretty necklace from my sister and a Nutra Ninja machine to make smoothies and homemade hummus with. I can't wait to use it!
