    If your daughter wants it prettier, why not just use cotton and then you can add pockets?dividers for her, and it would be washable and hold up well.
    The "binding" is simply called webbing,it comes in different widths and tons of colors...

    Just a thought, couldn't you use one of those $store fold up laundry bags. There would be enough fabric to make double sides. They come in lots of colors.

    Dollar tree had some small ones in different colors. Best Part....$1 each.

    I have used pet screening for the mesh bags. You can purchase it at hardware stores.
    I have only seen black though.

    I got some of that mesh fabric at JoAnn's and made clothespin bags to hang on the line.
