Default Old Business Cards

Hi there,

I have what looks like 500 business cards that my son never used. Does anyone out there have an idea of what I can do with them?

Thanks in advance.

Sue

I know we are supposed to be thinking of sewing uses... but I just could not resist offering my idea... perhaps it is because I returned to school (after retirement) and/or recently finished a long-term sub job for a friend who had open-heart surgery... My thought is that someone who is in school could use the backs as review cards/flash cards... It is a great learning strategy for many learners, no matter what age. I frequently cut index cards into smaller sizes for review and your old business cards would have been perfect for many review sessions!

Either templates or cut them in half, punch a hole and attach with a safety pin to mark yardage on fabric pieces. That is the method that I use with my fabrics.

This also is not a quilting use for them, but here goes! I've used some old business cards to organize and store my small post-style pierced earrings. Take a larger sized needle (guess there is a small connection to sewing here!) and punch holes in the card, then put the earrings on. You can fit several pair on a card, especially if they are small. I have mine organized by color. Makes them easy to find and pick out in the morning during the flurry of activity while getting ready for work.

Tie them in a bundle with a pretty ribbon and give them back to your son. No guilt on your part if he tosses them. LOL

You aren't going to believe this but years(30) ago I developed mini specs on the back of business cards. These we used where I worked for the processes we were running. this developed in to a company wide program.. no bonus but sure thought it was a winner.

Go to Bonnie Hunter's website (quiltville.com) and learn how to create a template for bonus HSTs. Then show your friends how to use the template (s) and pass forward the knowledge/technique. You could give a demo at a quilt guild meeting or a special "tip" at the next quilt show. I feel so great as my pile of bonus HSTs increases.

I have even gotten to the point where I have now created the templates from expired plastic courtesy cards. There is a natural progression from paper trial to permanent usage.
