I was born in Bellingham, WA, lived in Spokane but mostly grew up in Seattle, as an adult, moved to Oak Ridge, TN, New Orleans, LA, back to Seattle, on to Patuxent River NAS in Southern MD, then to Philadelphia and now to Navarre, FL just east of Pensacola. I, my ex and my present DH all worked or works for Boeing - it's like being in the service.

We also feel that way about the house that was orginally owned by my material grandparents back in Brooklyn, in a few years it will have been in the family for 100 years. After my grandparents died ownship passed to their son, my Uncle Tony, and now it belongs to one of his daughters and her DH. We were all upset when our his daughter, my cousin, said that they may be selling the 'family homestead' as her DH has retired and wants to move out of state.
May, Now that they are talking about raising the bridge tolls again, you may not be so interested in going back to B'lyn so often! $12 for the Outerbridge and $12 for the Verrazano?? Can you afford to go home again?? Crazy stuff...
Isn't that something - higher tolls again. We make sure that a trip to B'klyn over those 2 bridges is a planned one and get to see and do as much as we can in one visit. Sometimes we sneak in the cheaper way, through Manhatten with only one toll but it's a longer trip and lots more traffic.

I was born and raised in Tacoma, WA. Married a man that was stationed at Fort Lewis that was from AL. During the twenty + years in the military, we have lived in a LOT of states TX, OK, KS, GA, AL and Germany, Japan, and Okinawa. In 1980 we moved to Gonzales, Louisiana because that is where his civilian job brought us when he retired. I have four kids (I was very fortunate that my husband was home for each birth) and in all that moving the kids never changed schools in the middle of the year, they all graduated from the same HS here in Gonzales and they all went to LSU.

I am from Indiana, and it is deep in my bones. My ancestors were among the first settlers in Blackford and Jay counties, over 170 years ago. I grew up in the house where my dad grew up. Nearly every old cemetery in northwestern Blackford County (there are many) has at least one headstone with a family name on it.

I have been to many places over the years, and have found many places I could happily live, but none will ever be HOME the way rural Indiana is.

"In The Beginning" was my quilt shop too. I lived in Magnolia so went to the Lake City store. Now I go to A&E Pharmacy in Pensacola. It really is a pharmacy (old) but also one of the best fabric stores ever and I lived in Lancaster Co. Amish country and had some fab shops. If you are ever near P-cola drop by and buy!!

That is where Grandma and Grandpa lived and we spent many a happy time on the farm in Newark off of county rd 69. Momma's parents lived in Dexter, MO. That is where we ran all over town with the cousins. I love writing to folks all over who love quilting. I do not have any close friends whom like to quilt. Thanks for being here.

When I started this it was just to see where you are from. I did not tell every where I have been. Again dad was in the Air Force, so I was born in Panama City, FL. Moved to South Texas, then Detroit, MI then Bermuda Island. Then to Oklahoma City, Kansas City, MO. then to Minot, ND then to Forsith, Mo, Springfield (small towns around was Fair Grove, Republic and Ozark.) Then to Chattanooga, TN then to Indianapolis, then to Raliegh and Durham NC the married and back to Chattanooga for 30 years then down to Coastal Georgia. Hinesville (Fort Stewart-Home of the Army's 3rd Bridgad) Jesup and now Beautiful Brunswick, down on the Coast. was that enough? We are still looking at moving when retiring. Husband is from Pittsburgh, PA and went to school in WV. Loves his Mountains. I like warm winters.
