Just curious, how many of you have kindles, nooks, or other e-reader devices.

Love my Kindle! I've had it about 2 1/2 years now and can't imagine going back to the library.

Love my Kindle. Got it when it first came out and then upgraded to newer model this year. If you haven't read The Help yet...it is a must read!

good question. I will be watching this one. I have looked at one for a long time, but on a fixed income with a fabric addiction I just could not get my self to save for it. I would use the money I saved on a ruler or fabric instead. I am a reader but I can usually find enough people who have books that they want to borrow to me. The library is 60 miles round trip so i just do not go. I think I would like it.. Now how do I save for that and not spend it on fabrics?

I gave my two DDs and their DHs and my DH Kindles last year for Christmas. They love them, even the one (my DH) that said he'd never use it! His Kindle goes everywhere he does. It's not just for books. He reads the daily newspapers, and magazines, has word games on it too.

I decided I want an IPad after using my DGD's. It's amazing.

I have a Nook (NOT the color version, just the basic black-and-white e-ink one). I have found that I love it for traveling and work (I have lots and lots of reading time at work), but at home I still gravitate toward paper books. I am not sorry I bought it. It's impossible to get stuck at work without reading material, as I can just connect to the wireless network, purchase a book and download it in seconds. Barnes & Noble has a stellar selection of e-books, many of them very cheap or free, and the Nook is compatible with several formats (meaning I can check out e-books from the library).

I think these days most of the e-readers are pretty similar. You can handle a Kindle at Target stores, and the Nook at Barnes & Noble stores (and the Sony at maybe Best Buy?). I just plain liked how the Nook felt in my hand, which is why I chose it (didn't like all those buttons on the Kindle).
