Somewhere in childhood. Very familiar to me, I know just how it feels - so incredible and lucky you!

If nothing else you could ask hubby how many screwdrivers he has. Or fishing poles or . . . . I sure wonder what happened to my grandmothers machines. One was a treadle which sewed only in reverse for me. Another had an old tan colored one in a cabinet- cool paint. Another had one with the knee "lever". It hanged below the machine and she used her knee to make it go. I would have been thrilled w any one of them. Youwill need to post your projects!

My sewing machine is a 1966 White 300B, it only has straight and zig zag stitch, but it's a workhorse. I've actually quilted on it as well, and it held up to quilting through a queen size quilt. My husband did some work cleaning and oiling it, and it's been great ever since. You can find manuals online for them too.

Let me ask. Does anyone know what it means when the lady at the shop said the gears need to be packed ? She wanted to have me leave one of my machines to service it but I didn't have the $ at the time. She said it needed to be cleaned, oiled and the gears to be packed......?
