Just made me remember my Great Grandmother. She had some kind of soft, flexi kid of rubber mat in front of her kitchen sink when I was a kid. It was so comfortable. Thanks for stirring my memory. :-)

I picked up at a yard sale a pkg of colorful foam 12 x 12 blocks. They interlock & are intended as a building set for kids. My grandkids lock them together and slide their matchbook cars down the stairs on them, but when the kids aren't here, I use them for standing on when cutting, etc. - saves back & neck.

They now make anti-fatigue linoleum in all kinds of patterns ... a few off the top of my head....flagstone to wood to the look of terracotta. I was told it was tested for several years in restaurant kitchens and other similar places where people are on their feet for long periods of time.
