I saw the Easy Quilter at the Dallas quilt show and wanted it. If you have one or have tried it could you please post what you think. Just wondering if it is really as good as it seems.

Interesting. I hadn't heard of this before.

Here's the link:
http://www.easyquilter.com/

It reminds me of the original Handiquilters - very low tech and inexpensive (about the same price of $500). But certainly would have a niche in the market.

Did you play with it at the quilt show? Did it move smoothly?

Is this kind of like the same idea as the flynn frame http://www.flynnquilt.com/

No, on this one the machine moves - sort of like a longarm, but very low tech.

Flynn's frame is moved around while the machine stays stationary.

Way better than Flyn Frame. I played with it at paducah last year and Des Moines, but I knew I was getting a longarm. It moved really smoothg! There was a crowd around me and all I heard was how can she go that fast! LOL then I heard how nice it was to see younger people quilting. :) gave me that warm fuzzy feeling. ;)

I would buy this before the flynn frame. Just my opinion.

I didn't try it at the show. Now I wish I had. It seemed to move very smooth. I wanted one so bad that I knew if I got too close that would be it, I would have to have it. :)

Well, it looks like they're located in OK - aren't you? Maybe worth a road trip to test it out. ;-)

I see that they are only offering the 4.1 and 5.1 versions now - those have tracks (the difference is whether or not the throat size of your machine is over/under 8" ).

I'm going to look for this at upcoming shows. I have no desire or interest in acquiring a long arm right now, and this really isn't a huge investment. Plus, it could be packed away in a closet if needed. Maybe I'd get through the pile of 20plus small quilt tops that are just taunting me on a daily basis.

Thanks for posting about it.

@knlsmith
Thanks for the review!

No problem. They are usually at the Paducah show if you are going. They seem like super nice people, too.

I have one. I too, played with one at the Dallas quilt show last year and was really impressed with it so I bought the last one they had. Sad to say I haven't pulled it out of the box yet....
