How do you get the wrinkles out of your batting before you baste? I am using Hobbs 80/20 prepackaged batting. I always lay my batting out flat for a day or two before I use it but that never seems to get all the creases out. Thanks!

I had some batting this week that just wouldn't relax. I took a warm iron and just pressed lightly - no moving the iron but just pressing. It worked just fine. :-)

Try tossing it in the dryer and tumbling on low heat for 5 minutes or so. If that doesn't work, throw in a damp towel and tumble for another 5.

I toss mine in the dryer on freshen up - I always do this for packaged batting.

Hobbs batting in the package is notorious for so many wrinkles, it looks like one of those old fashion drapes that were in front of the screen at the movie theaters, you know the ones that had those scallops pleats. I always just lightly sprayed the batting and put it into to tumble dry with no heat. It always worked like a charm.

I'm another who tosses the batt in the dryer with a damp towel. If the batt is very large, I check it several times while it's drying so it doesn't clump up around the towel.

Throw the damp towel in with it immediately.

I either toss it in the dryer with a damp towel for a few minutes, or if the dryer is in use (which happens a LOT in this house chock full 'o boys) and I can't wait, I'll steam the batting with my iron. I don't iron it, I just hold the iron above the batting and steam it.

Same for me...throw in dryer on LOW for about 5-10 min with a damp washcloth

i hang mine from a set of shelves in the basement. The weight of the batting brings the wrinkles out enough.
