Bertha is togather, only took two days.
She is a new model for the bigger machines.
But Bertha has problems. Made by Arrow. They sent along a piece of paper explaining the problems. Like some holes not pre drilled and the lift sitting crooked. They sent a piece of wood to hammer in to solve the lift problem but it did not work. I ended up putting two rubber door stops under the front of my machine to level it up.
It was a bargin at $550 complete with insert and a platform on the back.
Total cost $616 with tax and handling. Shipping was free.
She has to be completely open to sew as the side platforms only fold up over the top and cannot be folded down at the sides. Which means she is 7 feet long open. Takes up alot of room.
But it sure is nice for quilting. The flatbed makes quilting so much easier.
Before I was using an acrylic table that cost me $80 and the quilt kept catching on the edges, not worth the money.

The acyrlic table is very nice and big. I see it advertized in quilting mags all the time. Dont buy it if you think you can quilt with it. Its fine for piecing but quilting its terrible. I even took it to a glass shop and had the sharp botton edge rounded but it didnt work.Made by Sew Steady portable tables.
Bertha can be seen at the Arrow website and at Joanns website where I bought it.
Yesterday I quilted a twin size quilt and it sure made it alot easier.
Bertha is new and I got one of the first 300 made so maybe they will get the flaws out after awhile.
To return Bertha it must be taken apart and shipped back in the 3 boxes it came in. No way.
I dont have a digital camera so cant post pics.
