Tp prevent the Clove seam ripper from rolling off a table, place a rubber band around the handle. I agree the Clover, white and green I think, with the round handle but I think I'm going to have to try those little scissors/thread nippers!! http://www.mygoodscissors.com/ThreadNippers.htm

LOL I also have the little stork, black and white, scissors (several) LOL!!

I have a little battery powered one that I love. One of the best quilting tool I ever bought. For little things I just use the one that came with the machine. I have several of that kind.

I found a brass one from the Decorating Diva - (she also has a matching stiletto) and I can tell you I have seen nothing that is a sharp as this one.

I use the Clover with the brown handle ... we all have to unsew sometimes! I hope you find one you like real soon!

I use the same method, but my snips were a tool issued from a job I had in a Sewing factory 40 years ago. They are still as sharp as the first day. Too bad I have no brand name to give you since they are amazing.

These little stork scissors I found at the check out of a LQS. I think I paid $1.88 for them! they are sharp to the point making them perfect for unpicking/hand applique prep and anything else I dream up.
I also bought a pair of these. They are not sharp at all. To take them back would cost more in gas than to buy another pair. I was so disappointed

I have about 6---I like the new ones with the "eraser" ends for collecting the threads, but personally I usually reach for one of my cheapo Dritz with the blue handle that are about 6" long--handle large enough to hold comfortable, the handle is flat so it's not rolling away, and I most like a flat blade that slips under that stitch OR that I can flip over with the red ball to the back of the fabric and do a quick "rip". they are getting a little dull so I'll splurge soon for 2-3 new ones since rather cheap to replace. And I do like that Wahl electic seam ripper when I have a lot of long seams to "unsew".

I have a pair of scissors, small, with very sharply pointed blades. They work great for that first cut or two to start opening the error.

DivaDee-it's unusual to get a dull pair, please give them another try but order from the link I posted, they have great customer service and prices, and I believe S&H is $2.00, regardless if you order 1 or 10.
