Julie and Countrymaid, my sympathies for the terrible strain on your families. I have them, all the Calif people, the firemen, rescue folks, the military that are there now, the police ALL in my prayers!

Please let us know if there's anything we can do to help any of the families??

Steve is in LA--Tim is in southern Calif.--Nancy is out there somewhere--Yvonne is up north, and so many others, all of you are in my prayers and I know you have good sense in getting out because you are all quilters. I'll share my fabrics........I promise!!

    Love and Hugs,
    Sharon

My sister called; they haven't been evacuated yet. They took her husband's car to the Navy base for safekeeping. (They're both retired Navy), and have everything ready to go at a moments notice. She said the sky to the east is black and may of her friends that live out that way have lost their homes. Kate said everything is covered with soot and their pool looks like a swamp. The clean up effort will be massive. Thank you all for your prayers. There is supposed to be a change in the weather by the weekend, so if they can just hang on til then...

Prayers and thoughts from our home as well. Folks, one of you that has been blessed with such great organization skills, do you think we could form a huge quilting bee and get some needed things to those in need? I know our family would be happy to do what we can.

Countrymaid, big hugs for your sister, and you. Its hard to lose things, but harder to lose a loved one. We'll hold her close in our hearts and she'll be better than ever when its all said and done!!

Tim is in San Jose-- Northern California, so he's safe from the fire. (Patrice is another story. . .)

It's really rather horrifying to watch.

As said before, if you live in these areas YOU are the precious ones, not posessions!

Our thoughts and prayers go out to those known and unknown, those affected by the fire and those working to save them.

Am sitting here in the SF Valley smelling smoke, many miles from any possible harm, but thinking now of friends in the thick of it, my stomach is in knots.

Julie, I will be praying for your family, I hope that they will be able to keep in touch so that you do not have to worry about their safety.

Steve, your friends will be in my prayers, also. I hope that you hear soon that they are all okay.
