I bought a machine a few years back off Ebay. It too ran in reverse. Found out the gave me the wrong foot peddle. I spoke with the sales person, but they insisted it was the right foot peddle. So I wound up having to purchase the correct foot peddle here locally.
very interesting... will keep that in mind

I hope you find the solution easily. I have a 6003 and a 730, and LOVE LOVE LOVE both of them. My 6003 travels with me most of the time, and is a true workhorse. I can put just about anything under that needle, and it does the job well. Where my 730 is fussy about lint, my 6003 goes until it just about chokes (however, it's a good idea to clean them out periodically!).
