I have a Pfaff 2170 embroidery machine,a Pfaff 262 that I am the original owner of bought in 1968, a Pfaff 130, a Frister and Rossmann handcrank, and my mother's New England Queen treadle that works for I am currently piecing a certain quilt on it. I love them all.
My dream machine is the Pfaff 5.5 Creative Vision. An older Pfaff that owners will not part with is the 7570 embroidery. Known lots of quilters that love piecing on it. I would probably own more machines if I had the space!

As I read the posts of others, I feel like I am definitely out of the league. I have ONE machine--and its a Bernette--which I haven't heard anyone else mention. I do lots of sewing and it has been faithful so far. When I have problems it is usually the thread or I need to change the needle. In the middle of a project, yes,it would be nice to have a back-up to goto. But then, life is what it is and I am grateful for my one machine.

I don't know where I'd put any more if I had them! It's so interesting to hear about all these machines -- some I've never even heard of! I learned to sew on my grandmother's Singer treadle machine (50+ yrs ago). I now have: 1)a 10-yr-old Pfaff 7570, which is now my main sewing/quilting machine (a real workhorse & I love the IDT feature); 2) a Viking Designer SE (got 3+ yrs ago because I wanted a bigger embroidery area); 3) a non-electronic White (for doing heavy stuff or dragging around town - rarely used); 4) a 19-yr-old Singer 5-thread Serger & 5) a Brother 4-thread Serger. I also have a Singer Serger up in IL where my sons live, as I'm always asked to make something when I visit. So guess that would be 6 - certainly more than I need, tho I DO sometimes have 2 machines going at once!

The reason I have so many is I never trade anything in when I get a new one. The vintage machines were inherited from DM and DMIL. Only the White was picked up at a garage sale for $1. Yes...One dollar! LOL. It's in a cabinet that needs repair but the machine runs fine. I got it for my DD, if she ever comes and picks it up. I still have the first machine I ever bought, centuries ago!
