Instead of plain white, how about a small friendship star, either pieced or embroidered in blue on the white blocks?

That was my original thought... a small paper pieced star in the blue and white.

What is the name of the bottom right block? I really like how the two colors play off each other in it.

    That's my block you're talking about :)

I think I'm going to stick with the plain white.

Remember that the blocks all have white in them, but it doesn't show well because they're scanned photos, so I think it will tie it all together and not detract from the stars.

The dotty fabric will go nicely to break up the sashing, and add a bit of colour, and the little triangles aren't over powering.

    This is the dotty fabric

Is there a name for the block? A book or pattern I could buy?
