I have one on a frame and use it to quilt. Has a 9" harp and is awesome. Only sews straight stitch. And yes, it does love oil! It really is an great, dependable machine.

My Juki TL98E is around 8 yrs old and works wonderfully. I use it mostly for assembly piecing and free motion quilting. Also works good when making totes, wallets, etc. as it glides thru heavy fabrics like butter! Never once had problems with it.

Personally, I think I'd save my money to buy one with a much bigger throat, unless your quilts tend to be smaller ones, I have a 10" throat, and it's a real pain in the behind to quilt big quilts, in my opinion.

I dont do anything bigger than wall or crib, and it said this has a 9 inch throat. I want sturdy and lasting and the features on this one will help with some of my physical limitations.I think I would love it.

my friend that I purchased "the truck load" from, had one of these - I tried to buy it from her and she said she loves it and will never get rid of it!

Congratulations for you!! You definitely deserve it for all of the sewing you do :)

I have the Brother 1500 which is, IMO, the same machine and I would NOT trade her for a million dollars. That machine is used almost every day for hours at a time and in the 8 years I have owned her, she has NEVER skipped a stitch or caused me ONE bit of problem. A drop of oil and a good sucking with my shop vac and she purrs like a kitten. Of course, all she does is goes forwards and backwards but I can free motion with the best of them and have NO problem with a king size quilt in the throat area. I did buy a very nice computerized Elna over the summer....love the varitey of stitches ( blanket for edge work ) but the Brother sure has been my ''go to'' machine.
