Juki Help
#11
I have a Juki 98Q and totally love it. I want a long arm, but even when I get one, this will remain my primary piecing machine. I will never trade her in. I love quilting on it, and love piecing. Just remember that you must oil her all the time. She is all metal and will live forever!
I will say that I jumped up one model to get the thread cutter, after great debate, and I find it totally worth it. Now, on my old Singer, I sometimes get irritated because the thread cutter is not there.

I searched the website and it looks like they are offering 2 different ''package deals'' for this machine.....one with and one without the quilters table. Trust me, you want the quilters table attachment....I think it was 100.00 more but worth it.

I have one and think it is a great machine. I bought it to go with a Grace Frame but love piecing with it and also FMQ. I like piecin with it better than myJanome6600! I think it is one of those machines that will last and last...just keep oiling them. Others have probably said the same.

I'm also leaning towards this machine for FMQ, and it does have the thread cutter which is really important if you are doing FMQ on it. I'm considering getting the Easy Quilter and I want a machine with a bigger throat to put on it.

I have a stitch regulator and I like it, but that is because I am not so smooth. I have heard others like it even without the regulator.
It took me half a practice quilt to get the tension right, but after that, totally smooth sailing. I love mine.

I am on my second Juki and I love it. I owned my first one for 9 years and the mother board needed to be replaced, so I bought a new one. I am a very heavy user; usually a day does not go by that my maching is not sewing something. I use it to piece and for free motion quilting. I free motion quilt on all size quilts, including queen and king and have no trouble fitting it in the throat of the machine. I love my machine!
