Juki
I have a juki TL98-P do any of you have this model, I have hardly used it after buying it two years ago to go on my frame, but now due to I'll health I can no longer stand at the frame to use this machine,
When I have tried to sew on this machine, it is like a 1st class race horse, I can't slow it down, on my Janome there is 3 different speeds but can not find this function on the Juki, I try to put very little foot pressure on the foot control but it is very touchy, and wants to race, do any of you good people have this same machine? And do you have the same problem
Thank you in advance

I have same model with no speed problems can go as slow as a snail or as fast as a cheetah. It is noisy when going too fast.
Mine is also set up on a frame. I never stand at it . I use a breakfast chair which has height adjustment and arms but no wheels. I can concentrate on one section before moving onto the next area.
I would try and take it for a service it could be dust build up somewhere. It may also need a little oil.
I love my set up.

I have the TL-98Q which I think is almost exactly the same. I love this machine and it is capable of going very fast but my foot pedal does control the speed and I can stitch as slowly as I wish. I think you should get the foot control checked out. I once had a vintage Singer that wanted to race and some work on the foot pedal fixed this problem. Only top speed for this machine does not sound normal.

I have the Juki 2000 and love it... A friend of mine has the 98. Her mother gave it to her... Does it not have a foot pedal that you can control the speed with? My friend didn't seem to have a problem with it when she finally used it. (she was afraid of it at first because her mom told her it was fast) She loves it and is kicking herself that she didn't use it sooner. I know, hindsight is a wonderful thing.

I have the Juki TL98QE and It is usually used for FMQ. It is wonderful and needs to be oiled after about 8 hours of use. I usually oil it a bit more with FMQ. I have to control the speed by how hard I push on the foot pedal.
