Keep Your Fingers Away From The Hot Sewing Machine Light Bulbs
I was sewing yesterday and decided to slide my machine to the other side of the table so I could watch TV. The machine had been on a while and my pinky finger brushed up against the hot light bulb. It only took a second before I realized that my finger was on touching the light bulb. I never knew those bulbs got so hot. It raised a small blister on my finger and stung for a while. Be careful out there. The light bulbs are as dangerous as the rotary cutters and the needles. I didn't think I needed a klutz glove but I might have to get one after all. BTW, I was sewing on my 1992 Bernina 1530.

It doesn't surprise me how hot any energy efficient bulb gets. I learn that lesson the first time I tried changing the bulb from my Bernina 1530. I didn't get burn but I feel the head come thru the plastic doodad that helps remove the light bulb. I am not sure if a Klutz glove would have helped. Take good care of that burn.

I don't use the light on my FW because it gets the metal light cover too hot to touch. Anyone found a LED bulb that will fit the older machines? I have the LED light strip but it gets in my way sometimes.

One of my friends found someone who makes an LED bulb for the FWs with the bayonet base, but she's had more problems with it than it's worth. Luckily, the guy has replaced the bulb (twice!). Personally, I have never burned myself on the light cover on any of my FWs. And since I said that, I've just jinxed myself and will do it the next time I use one of them.
