Default Left overs

I was wonder what does everyone do with left over material that is too small to use any
more?

I know my mother donates it to a person that uses it to make beds for animals and uses it for stuffing.

You are asking about scraps. How small is too small to keep is a perennial question. Depends how much you like to piece. Some folks keep everything, no matter how small, some have a 2" square limit etc. Go to Bonnie Hunter's site for inspiration:

100% cotton scraps that I think are too small to keep go into my flower beds as mulch.

very good response, however never thought about scraps for mulch. My really small scraps go into pillowcases for dog beds that are collected at my LQS.

I take the teeny, tiny pieces to guild meetings. They are collected for "the bale" - and I have to confess I don't know what happens to "the bale" - I just know it's somehow used or recycled.

Thrift places such as Goodwill or Salvation Army will accept scraps too small to use for quilting. They are sold to recycling companies. I verified this with the local stores, so you may want to check with the thrift stores first before donating.
