I really cant stand going into Hancocks anymore. I walked in there today trying to find 3 fabrics that match to make a small wall hanging. I spent about 30 mins walking in circles, After being dizzy and frustrated I left without anything.

Are there any stores online or otherwise that have fabrics together that Match???

Craftconn.com shows coordinating fabrics once you choose a fabric and you go to it's page. Is that what your looking for?

A couple of the others have the same thing on line.

I use online sites and on alot of them you can pull up a manufacturer's or designer's grouping and therefore you see several fabrics that are meant to be together.
I have used Favorite Fabrics, Connecting Threads and Fabric.com and have had good experiences with them all

Many of the online fabric stores allow you to search material by collections, designer, manufacturer and color. Perhaps that would be helpful. They also have interactive designer walls where you can put the fabrics in your cart (temporarily) and see how they look together. Hope this helps.

Try http://www.keepsakequilting.com and look at their fabric medleys. I know your frustration...I spend endless time trying to pick out fabrics. :roll:

You might also want to try http://www.equilter.com

They have a good search engine and if you find something you like add 1 yd to your cart. Do this for all of the fabrics you are considering. Then check your cart and click on Design Board. This will place all your choices on the screen and you can see them all together.
p.s.Both of these sites do a good job on their color reproduction. I have found them to be pretty accurate. Also I have ordered from both of these companies and they are very reputable.

Interesting that you bring this up - I also went to our Hancock's today - just to find something to match a fabric I already had. As I walked around the aisles, it was apparent that bolts were just jammed in where-ever, with little sense of organization. The general feeling in the store was depressing, dirty and uncared for. On top of that, I saw a couple of bolts of cotton fabric mixed in with the other cotton fabrics that were $12.99 a yard! At Hancock's! They didn't look much different than the $4.99 bolts right around them. I hope this isn't a sign of things to come.

I went next door to Hobby Lobby - and did find a matching fabric that I was satisfied with. I took it to the table to be cut, and the woman working there spent a long, slow time cleaning up previously cut fabrics, putting one in a plastic bag (there were no other customers there at the time). I was standing right at the table and know that she knew I was there. When she couldn't find anything else to do, she looked at me. No 'can I help you' or 'what do you want' or anything! I handed her the bolt and asked for one yard. You'd have thought I asked her to run a full marathon. She begrudgingly cut the yard and handed me the fabric with the ticket without a word.

Why do people working at these stores think it's okay to keep the place a dump and treat us like we are a bother to them? I felt so depressed with humanity that when I came home I put the yard of fabric away and don't know when I might pull it out again.

My experiences with ordering online have been so positive - I may just be one of those quilters who order everything online. (I'm sorry if I've diverted from the original topic of this thread. It just hit a nerve with me.)

I know. I am so sick of the ATTITUDE of these people!! If they dont want the job there are others that will do it.

I may have to just shop online, I am so tired of walking around and walking out with either what I dont like or nothing.

If I encounter an unfriendly service person I check with manager. At times the manager is the problem or could care less, I then contact the business home office. Online you will fine phone # for contactand other info for customer service. Let it be known about the problem, In turn if I receive exceptional good service I do the same. Business's
like this info.
Only been in a Hancock's a few times, not impressed.

Our Hancocks has had some of the same fabrics for the past 2 years. Just a few new ones, and it is very hard to put collections together. Many of the online stores do offer collections.
