Motivation. I need some
#1
I am in serious need of some motivation. For the past month I have not done a darn thing with my quilting. I have at least 5 projects that I could work on but just cant force myself to do it.
Perhaps going to my quilt guild meeting tonight will get me started again.
What do you do when you get into this type of situation?

I do something rather mindless. I make a simple no patchwork crib quilt. So I get a few ready to sew binding on while watching tv. Gives me some quilting to do and I don't feel lazy and accomplish a bit.
Sometime a messy sewing space can cause problems. Am sure you don't have that problem lol but I do
Look around and try to discover why you feel the way you do and then go about changing the cirumstances. If the projects just don't interest you now. Do something else - perhaps a simpler one that can be finished quickly.

ditto. I just have to take time off and wait for the urge again. And if you are an avid quilter/sewing person it will come back. I find the best way if I truly have to get motivated is I find a small project to do and then I get my groove back. :)

I hear ya....ever since I had the lung infection a few months back the lack of energy is very depressing. I have made a few things but the big projects just sit there...hmmm
Repeat after me : THIS TO SHALL PASS... hopefully soon.
Good luck.

I say take a break. Sometimes when I feel as if I HAVE to do something... it is the last thing I want to do. Do other things, read a book, enjoy outdoors... I mean, isnt quilting supposed to be fun and something we enjoy? Take some time away from it, dont feel one whit guilty about it, and you will be itching to sew when the time is right. :)

Okay, I think that you are just not excited about the 5 you have on the go. Maybe just put them away (with all the instructions and ideas) and clean and clear your work room. Hang out here on the board for a new small idea you can try. If that doesn't get you motivated, I like to sign up for a class that interests me to jump start a creative surge.
