Does any one have or has used a cordless iron and how do you like it? Pros vs Cons.

I used to have one. It seemed to cool down very quickly and then I would have to wait for it to heat back up again. That's why I say I 'used to' have one! Don't waste your money. Now I use a very inexpensive lightweight iron with a teflon soleplate that I bought at Walmart. It's wonderful. I have decided that fancy expensive irons are not worth the money. I know because I have had them! I love my cheap little iron, and when it dies it won't cost an arm and leg to get another. It's a lightweight Toastmaster, and has been going strong for years.

I agree with majormon. It's nice that you can walk across the room with it if you have to, but it DOES cool down quickly. I would not buy another one.

Thanks to both of you your comments have been a huge help & I will take your word for it and not purchase or ask for one. At first I was thinking of putting it on my Christmas list but they are so expensive I wanted to know if they were worth the money.

It is great when you are ironing/pressing a whole quilt top or backing in prep for quilting. I love mine,

AliKat ... do you find it keeps its heat for that long of a pressing? With what the others have mentioned, I'm thinking that you'd have to put it back in its base frequently, and would not let you keep pressing straight thru a whole quilt. Pit Your comments, please??


I have had nothing to do with one ... though I think the concept would be perfect, as I always feel like I'm getting the cord caught into the fabric or quilt I'm working with.
