I like it ... very intriguing and different ... but I think red edging would really make it pop.

With the whole background red, it kind of reminds me of candy canes, which may or may not be the look you want.

I like the gray background and the red edging.

I really like your addition of the slender red edging to the strips!

Can't quite decide which of the two light background choices I like best. I'm tending to think I prefer your original choice.

I like color so the red background is my choice. The curved pieces are really neat. I would call it THE ROAD TO GRANDMAW"S HOUSE. Hugs

Here is what my black and white and grey quilt looked like when I used a red with a tiny white polka dot fabric to highlight it. Might give you an idea of red with the greys/white/blacks.

I also like the grey that you've added the narrow red strips to.

Personally, I'd choose a bright color for the background.

I think you did a great job with the chain pieces! IMHO, I'd like to try a white with red pinpoint for a background. (if you can afford to buy it.) Then the red and black border as you described. That would set the pieces off without detracting from them.

The gray is the best. It is a modern quilt with intrigue. Make sure your strips do the bend thing. Adding thin red piping would be great. How are you planning onquilting it? That is another make or break moment.

The red background is just ordinary.

I would put a darker grey background, just a couple values lighter that your black.

Ok, I just noticed your quilt, see how that darker grey is so good?
