This is new to me, so a simple question for clarification: Do you mean the blocks are to be the picture of a star or stars? (At least I understand the blue and white fabric rule.) I'm just a little unsure about what is meant. Thank you!

A pieced star block...

like an ohio star for example in blue and white fabrics..

there are many different piece star blocks to choose from. It is your choice which on you want to do.

When you get them back you will have one of 12 different stars to make into a sampler type quilt

Does that help? let me know if not.

count me in. I'll pm you.

Thank you, Judy - that does explain it. Count me in! And let me know what I do now, other than making 12 identical blocks.

I am interested in joining this exchange.

Hey Judy,

I'm looking thru Quilter's Cache and my own books here. When you run swaps, do you ask us to publically choose a block so that others know that one's already taken? Or doesn't it matter if we get a duplicate because it will be a sampler-type quilt anyway? :)

I say just make what you want. If a design is duplicated it most likely will look different due to fabric choices..

If we get more that 12, I will try to put similar blocks in different sets

Can it be two or more different blues with the white, or should it just be one blue fabric with white? Several of the patterns I have need a couple of different shades.

Any number of blues and any number of whites...

just stay with blue and white...

multiple blues will be beautifulllll
