I am glad to see you made the quilt, I thought about this thread a few days ago and was wondering what ever became of your dinner idea!!

The quilt is beautiful! I hope the courtship is, too (nothing wrong with it being slow!)

Sounds like an incredibly wonderful quilting novel ... in the making! :o

OK, I'm gonna play devil's advocate here. Has he taken you out anywhere in public? Has he spent any money on you? Have you met his mother? Are you doing all the giving and he's doing all the taking? There's a reason he's still a bachelor at his age. It's been over 5 months; has he made any progress? I'm not trying to burst your bubble but I was single for a long time in between marriages. Didn't remarry the 2nd time until I was 45. But I went out with a lot of guys of that age group when I was single and believe me, there is some reason they are still single in their 40s. Just sayin.....

Lovely quilt and just perfect!! I hope he gets the hint and comes back for more *warmth* (wink-wink/nod-nod!). I loved following the story of your courtship.

I too found myself in the dating game in my forties after my 1st husband passed away (happily married now). One thing I figured out fairly soon. In my 40's I was more comfortable with who I am, and had a much better idea of what I wanted, and what I didn't want. I knew what battles I was not willing to fight, I knew what concessions I was willing to make. Relationships just seemed so much easier! I dated a few guys and knew right off the bat it wasn't going to work and said "no thanks" to date #2.

I'm hoping that you too have a better idea of who you are and what you need to make you happy!!

Good luck to you and Dale!

keep us posted!

How intriguing - I think it's time to blog this thread! I love your choice of pattern and fabrics. Good luck

My cousin married the carpenter she hired to help her with her house, I will have to ask what she did to win him over.

So how did he like the quilt? Have you given it to him yet?
